There are basically a couple big towns - Northampton and Amherst, home of the five colleges. Northampton is where you go for funky shopping and such

In Hadley there are lots of pretty farm fields up route 47 to our house. The center of hadley is on route 9, a long ugly strip mall where the hotels are, but the outskirts are nice

Then a bunch of surrounding hill towns with quaint old new england town centers, pretty fall leaves, and parks
